The children were asked to each pick a colour of their choice. The four girls in the class decided on a light shade of pink (of course), dark purple, turquoise-green and medium blend of blue and also black and white. Each colour was kept in a separate container.
GO and STOP:
Students dipped their brush into the paint.
They were asked to follow my voice command: GO! - paint until I said STOP
The intervals varied from 1 to 8 seconds in length.
After each STOP they reloaded the brush with paint.
Firstly, each student dipped the brush into the container holding the black paint. Listening to my command they made their marks. Secondly, they picked the container with the blue paint and repeated the GO and STOP dance, reloading the brush after each STOP. Next they chose the turquoise-green colour, then the light pink and finally the dark purple.
TAKE A LOOK:
Students viewed their work and added finishing touches any way they pleased. Some used stencils to add texture and patterns and others blended the colours together... Here are the finished artworks!
