Community Campaign

Rights of the Child
North Shore Community Awareness Project

This project is well under way. Children and communities are busy.

I have been selected to do two large art projects with a group of 3 - 12 year olds.
Today we are celebrating the conclusion of one of the projects.
Children worked hard for two days.

The artwork is reflecting the theme "Rights of the Child". In a nut shell:

"Building strong communities where children are healthy, safe and valued".
Children have a right to:
food, love, play, comfort, happiness, education, opportunities,
freedom, protection, to be heard, support and a healthy planet.

Specifically children have the right to:
nutritious food, safe housing and adequate clothing
make friends and freely meet in groups
religion, culture and beliefs
justice, protection and fair treatment
education, play and rest
a caring home environment
be heard and equal access

Project 1

HERE WE GO!
Supplies and materials are set up...
Studio is ready!
I, the Artist am ready... this is going to be much fun!

Ready set go...
Where are the kids?

Drawing the outlines...
Who wants to draw the dog, the balloons or the hair?
Everyone!

Sounds like a Beauty Saloon...
Blow-drying the dog - that's cool!

What a great job...
Almost done with the yucky color.
(A mix mush of every color under the sun)

Ah - the serious stuff...
We are using professional acrylic paints.
The kids deserve the best!

The dog and the hair is done...
The balloons too - or are those lollipops or flowers?
They can be all of the above - it's up to you!

READY?
DONE!
BRAVO for a SUPER JOB!
